You Have To Try These Bay Area Food Trucks

There's something about getting a bite from a food truck that just hits different. From Mexican to Filipino to Indian and everything in between, these speedy eats around the Bay never disappoint. And lucky for you, there's hella of them to choose from. Dig in!

San Francisco

El Tonayense

As we all know, there’s plenty of Mexican joints and food trucks to pick from when you’re in the Mission. If you’ve never had El Tonayense though, you’ll definitely want to give it a try. They’ve been in business for over 15 years and for good reason.

Señor Sisig + Señor Sisig Vegano

One of the more eclectic and well-known food trucks in SF, Señor Sisig is a Filipino fusion food truck, meshing the delectable Filipino and Mexican cuisines. Go get yourself a burrito, you deserve it.

The Chairman

This truck has been voted the best food truck by San Francisco Magazine, so you know that you got to check it out. Inspired by Asian street food while also using techniques from high-end restaurants, The Chairman is a perfect combo of convenient and refined cuisine. To find out their schedule and where they’ll be next, follow them on Instagram and Twitter.

Off the Grid

If you’re a foodie and have never heard of Off the Grid, you need to check this out. Off the Grid creates something similar to a food market, except all of the vendors are food trucks. These markets usually have a wide variety of cuisines and always keep a good vibe. Off the Grid currently hosts in the cities of San Francisco, Menlo Park, Alameda, and Daly City. Check out their schedule here and see when they’ll be coming to your area next.

SOUTH BAY + PENINSULA

Red Pepper Express

This Sunnyvale gem has some damn good Indo-Chinese food. It’s a lowkey spot, but we’re letting you in on the secret. Try it for yourself and join the club.

Tacos Al Vapor Michoacan

Now, this could be our personal bias talking but this tiny taco truck might have the best al pastor tacos around. But hey, that's just our opinion. Try it for yourself, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Spartan Taco Truck

If you’re looking for a late-night spot, Spartan Taco Truck has got you covered. This San Jose favorite has got some super bomb feeds that will satisfy all your taco needs.

Sam's Chowder Mobile

A hot bowl of Sam's chowder on a foggy day is truly unmatched. You can find this hot commodity rolling through Half Moon Bay on the regular and even around SF. See their schedule here.

EAST BAY

Tacos El Gordo

Arguably the best tacos that you can find in Oakland and the East Bay at large. With the amount of Mexican food in the Bay, that's saying a lot.

Bowl'd Acai

Oftentimes street food and food trucks can be delicious, but also quite heavy. If you're looking to get away from the grease and find something a bit more healthy, check out Bowl'd Acai for some smoothies, acai bowls, and pressed juices. They have locations in both Oakland and San Francisco.

Royal Egyptian Cuisine

This spot has really awesome, authentic Egyptian food, but has a unique quality that makes it really stand out in the food truck world. The chef, Elmy Kader, is also a pretty charming guy, so you might get a laugh while also getting some amazing food.

Pupuseria Rosita

This place offers a bit more than your typical taco truck. In addition to Mexican cuisine, Pupuseria Rosita also specializes in Central American food. They offer pupusas, tamales, plantains, tacos, and a bunch of other dishes. Keep in mind that this place is cash only, so come prepared.

NORTH BAY

El Roy's Express Mex

Rumor has it that this is some of the best Mexican food you can get in the North Bay. Check out one of their three food trucks in the North Bay and see if it lives up to the hype (I'm pretty sure it will).

Dino's Greek Food

If you're looking for authentic Greek food, you'll want to try out Dino's. This popular location in the North Bay makes for some really great comfort food.
